Well trying to fly a heli from scratch is going to end in tears that's for sure.

Buy the Phoenix Sim for £79 and learn to fly the easy way.

Yes its not a heli but it costs nothing to crash so your decision should be much easier now.

Then this might sound harsh but your getting into the wrong hobby mate.

£79 for a Phoenix sim which will get you on track for actually flying a heli for real..

                    OR.

Buy a heli from £120 up to £1000 but either way without learning to fly first your heli will end up smashed and worth nothing..

                    The decision is yours.

PS: This is not a dig at you but a tip you should take.

look on the hobby hanger web site in my signature they have a special deal on the twister blackhawk. it comes with a free fms sim which is pretty poor (the sim not the heli) but it will get you started.
tbh mate this is not a cheap hobby!

You will get no where like that! I started off on the tightest budget, and got the sim 6 months before getting my first heli, a honey bee king 2.

My advice would be to visit a local club first, preferably somewhere with 3d and scale fliers so you get a good idea of what the heli can do. Its mad, and was what inspired me to learn.

It took around 3 hours of hopping around to master tail in hovering on the hbk2. it owed me over 300 including repairs and radio gear and upgrades by this point.

I bought a trex shortly afterwards, and crashed twice now, costing around £300 in repairs alone, but 12 months after picking a sim up, im now doing shaky circuits (yes guys i cracked it today!!!1 ) , flips and rolls, stall turns, and a bit of nose in hovering.

To date ive spent around £1300 on the hobby, including the above mentioned cx2 yesterday!! ive done 2 pairs of blades on that too! but there pennies to buy.

Your first choice of heli... i can see a cx2 being a good start, but , this goes with any heli, get a competent person to set it up and maiden fly it for you!!! this is vital, if you dont, you will crash and get fed up in no time!!!

This forum and its members kept me motivated, lets hope you stick around and take there advice too
