    Hi
Took out the Raptor today and tryed to fly it.....

I had no luck with my setup in the FF8 and had to revert to my
Concept 32vr model still in the tranny. would you belive it the
heli became a diffrent machine and flyable.

Just needs the final setting up doing but the engine has now been
run and I'm happy with it.

      Hi
again had the Raptor out today for 2 hours-ish....

Had to stop useing contest 10 fuel the Engine just wouldnt behave
itself... Plumped for Wildcat 15% And well now it flys a treat!

Tryed to do Circuits today and well for some reason the Raptor
doesnt quite turn as well as my 32vr did... Or I'm just not use
      to it today.

I can hover land and get myself out of the crap if required......

But its when I fly off to the right in a straight line then turn Left
then fly in front of myself then do the next turn Left I seem to stuff it
up..... Thankfully I seem so far to sort it return to hover and land
      then cack myself!

question I have the FF8 transmitter how much better is say the FF7
or is it question of sod it and get the FF9? Xmas money required
      for this one!

Disc, you'll find that whatever manouvour you do, one direction will be easier that the other.

For example, righthand circuits are easier than left hand circuits, stall turns on your right are easier than on your left. Apparently this is due to the rotational effects of the rotor disk, and if you fly a heli with a reversed rotation direction, the "difficult" direct also reverses. This may be utter bollocks, but as I've never flown a lefthand rotating heli, I don't know first hand.

One thing I've learned, and that's to always practice new manouvours both ways, right from the start, otherwise you get very "handed". For example, when I started stall turns, I ALWAYS practised to my right, and even now you rarely see me doing a stall turn to my left 8O

But back to your difficulty with left turns (and circuits), the only answer is practise, practise, practise

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

the FF8 is a good radio it sounds like a user problem rather than a problem with the radio. A new radio isnt going to fix that!

the new 7c is also a good radio but is a bit of a step down from the 8 even tho the 7 is newer. The 9c and JR pcm 9x are pretty much industry standard these days unless you want the bling of the 9z/14mz/10x

Sounds like it just needs setting up properly. Its worth taking it to a local expert to get it looked over. Or if you find yourself down my way give me a shout!

            Hi
My FF8 is abit strange and doesnt behave how it should

Basically my pitch and throttle settings are 100% = 0 on both
            so 0 = 100% on both....

Throttle cut wont work..... I got it 2nd hand and its always had
these issues. but overall I have to admit I do like it..

there is a thing with some radios where you can reverse the sense of the throttle/pitch so you have full throttle back rather than forwards.

this would explain the values and the throttle cut not working. It will be in the manual somewhere. If you cant find it let us know I will see what I can dig up.

                  Hi
Okay quick update FF8 is fine just that the throttle cut doesnt work
plus I have now gained a 3rd Heli into the stable a Shuttle Plus which
was swaped for one of my fixed wing planes (my weston magnum
didnt have the tuned pipe on it but still quick!) Shuttle in good conditiion
fully kitted out ready to fly.

I now need a Tranny that has CCPM head mixing as the FF8 doesnt.

Looking at the new heli Futaba 6AXE Tranny looks fie enough for
what I require idle x2 6 channels etc.. ccpm head mixing....

Is the FF7 any better tranny for Helis? reads bit better than the 6...
FF9 is out of my cash range!

Going to keep the 8 But like I said it wont do the CCPM head mixing as
                  its not the FF8s.

Also update: Raptor doing circuits rather well very happy with it flys
like a plane for the most part. I think my pitch and throttle curves for
idle up 1 now require setting up!

                    Hi

The FF7 is an excellent radio!!!

You probably will want to upgrade to the FF7 very soon after purchase if you opt for the 6AXE.

I'd go for the FF7. Very user friendly with great features. (Apart from the single throttle/pitch adjustment but I can live with that as I like you cannot afford a FF9)

                    Cheers
