  • Frustration

    Hi all

Its amazing how much time moving house and getting settled takes out of your attempt at re-launching your model helicopter flying career.

The Shuttle still sits 90% built in my office at work (did not wan't to risk it in the move) and the summer is almost over. (Did it begin?)

Moved in July, flying in ???? 2006? at this rate anyway.

    Cheers

    Hi Mark
Just think of the money you are saving. I started flying in January and have just managed my third crash. Now thats frustrating. I now think leaving them on the shelf is a good idea.
Anyone know the cheapest shop for Raptor spares?

      blatent plug, try us! www.themodelworx.co.uk

also to get some stick time try one of the flying schools, they are very good value and the rate at which you learn is much much quicker!

I do more flying in one hour with my customers than most do in an entire days flying.

        Thanks Ade
I have looked at your site but only found the crash kit. I unfortunatly need lots more. If you do all the spare for Raptor 30 and I give you a list will you be able to give me a price?

          Hi Mack

Unfortunately I still find the odd thing to buy even though I'm not back in the air yet. Ordered a Futaba battery checker/discharger yesterday.

Shhh, don't tell the wife. I think she's forgotten about the helicopter.

Ade, how does the TZ compare to the Sceadu 50? (Unbiased of course)

          Cheers

I think its a good half way house between the sceadu and the raptor.

            I have owned all 3.

The Raptor has nice strong frame set and is easy to work on but as standard the head is flexible and wears out quickly. Even when upgraded to metal bits it still lacks some precision and doesnt respond very positively to collective either.

The Sceadu in terms of flying is leagues ahead of the raptor when you fit a set of CX dampers. Its accurate and has a nice powerful collective feel to it. However the frames are thin and crack easily, the parts count is quite high and things like the flybar carrier and flybar control cage are easily broken in crashes which increases the crash costs and time taken to get it flying again.

The TZ 50 deluxe is the same price as an evo 50 but has all metal head, which improves the durability no end, it has a metal collective pitch lever too which improves the collective punch too. Combined with a beefed up frame set which looks almost identitcal to the raptor frames you cant beat it.

The tz doesnt quite have the precision of the sceadu but it is definitely streets ahead of the raptor. the surface finish of the bling on the TZ isnt up to the same standard of the QUK stuff but it is strong and durable(proven!)

Often spend a few minutes during the day browsing your site.

              Recommend it to anyone.

                  Ade

Saving for a TZ50 Deluxe as we speak.

I hope to have the Shuttle in a scale body next year and wondered about a Sceadu for my pod and boom fetish.

However, I seriously like the look/value of the TZ 50 hence saving my pennies.

I only mentioned your site to try and get a few more people to look at it.

If I had the money today the order would be with you now.

                  Cheers
