  • Thanks to Terence

This morning my new 4#3b arrived from Hong Kong in perfect condition, I'm somewhat laid up right now but I managed a quick test flight and all is perfect, she flew like a dream without any adjustments, and has loads of power if needed and the stability is beyond question.

I ordered a spare main motor, and a few other bits, but I was very surprised to find an extra motor added in the box.

I naturally thought Terence had made a mistake, until I read the list doc', and at the bottom he added the extra motor is a gift from him to see me in good stead for extra flying, well words to that extent.

I thought that was a really nice gesture and I was quite touched by his generosity, as it was a very nice and kind thing to do.

I'd be using him anyway as my supplier for my 4#3 parts, and we've exchanged a few e-mails in the last two weeks, and his service with customer helpfulness and promptness with his delivery's is exemplary.

A good friendship between customer and supplier is a rare thing, I've found it with Rod at Elite Models who are a superb dealer, and Terence at

    http://www.chinesejade.com/walkera.htm

Even without this kind gesture I was going to give my experiences once everything had arrived, as I was a little worried ordering things from so far away, but those concerns wasn't at all justified, use this guy with confidence.

Thank you T, you've made my day here well and truly, bravo.

Will do mate, its next on my heli list of priorities
Ordered the heatsink last night off ebay as it was only cheap and already in the UK. Think ill use Terence also for the spare motors and other bits.
Looking forward to receiving it now, should be a good laugh. Very glad your happy with yours now anyways

            Thank you too John.

Lee, honestly mate purchase "The Best Heat Sink" from Terence, it puts the other H/sinks in the shade, and the fit is so snug, there's no need for any compound, but you have to remove the motor, a 2 minute job, and place the sink on from underneath.

I'll be ordering another "Best" H/Sink soon, but for now I'm using that, and the small H/S I purchased from Buzz Flyer, and between the two it stops the motor getting to hot even after a non-stop flight, take the canopy off and after a flight the motor is only slightly warm, without the sinks, and with the canopy on they become too hot to touch, so those Sinks from Terence really do a superb job.

Glad to hear you are up and running again Wayne.

Mine arrived on Monday from Terence along with all my spares (but no free motor or anything else for me).

It flies great though and I'm having loads of fun. When I get the chance. Only managed to get about 12 flights so far though.

                Thanks Gary

Have you both of your Heat Sinks attached to the main motor by chance, I've had two flights, each flight lasting in total around ten minutes, but having periodic landings and cool downs, not that with the heat sinks it needs it.

But flying without the canopy reduces the motor heat with the Sinks by easily 90% less, so in theory increasing each motors servicable life span by a huge margin.

I have both heat sinks fitted with heatsink compound. The main motor rarely gets above 32 degrees Celsius so stays nice and cool, but I have noticed the tail motor getting warmer today. I hope it isn't on its way out!

I have trimmed my canopy to allow more air to flow over the motor too.

Wish I could figure out how to hover it in one place... over my head. This heat is killing me today.

I used to hover the BCX2 overhead as the breeze is very nice.

Your more than welcome to come over and sit in front of my 12,000 BTU Air Conditioner, it's been on all day, Clare even switched the air on upstairs, as it's like an oven right now.

Heat measuring the two sinks has offered some superb results, when my second arrives could I wink at you nicely and nick a squirt of that compound to mate.

But the fit is tight all the way round the HS, I had a thought about trimming the top of the canopy back, but I haven't a knife sharp enough.

Were have to fly these on the Island on a still evening, do a bit of racing round the tree's.
