just a battery question,i connected my lipoly to the chopper with the wrong polarity,reconnected properly but not a sausage,anyone know if the 4in1 rx etc,has diode protection or is it knackered

In my experience any wrong polarity connections to ESC's is terminal I'm afraid.

Dave's right. Reverse polarity usually means a dead ESC. You will find it will have a protection diode which would have blown. Take it back to the shop and plead ignorance. They might replace it.

how did you manage that the plug is polarised?

chappers i bought 1200ma batteries from the states,
they are different connectors,
stripped the unit down noticed burnt area next to battery connector
there was a copper strip not in the printed circuit but on the top of the board this was severed so i have soldered a thin strip of wire in
between the two halves and lo and behold it works again
