My Boom was a little loose since I had the heli, not enough to fall out or anything but it bugged me.

So I used a slightly larger screw to secure the boom which worked, however it seems to have pinched the tail motor wires and when I took her up for a flight the wire from the screw point to the main box has completely burnt out in a huge cloud of smoke.

At least she went down in flames, almost, so that seems game over for me flying the buzzies.

I'll have loads of spares going cheap soon if anyone needs any.

I bet mate - at least you'll get a fair whack for the bits. I'm sure someone will take the airframe off you along with your other bits, is it beyond economic repair for a new leccy bits box? Maybe you can find one in HK?

Is it just the wires that have shorted ? Id run new wires and see before you write it off Wayne . Seems a pity to chuck it if all it needs are a couple of bits of cable my friend .

Just checked and Terence has tail wires for $2.50 and reciever for $33 . Your looking at about £20 fella . Look on the bright side it could of been ya Trex

i'd just replace the wires and see if it still goes. it shouldn't be too bad

I've been in contact with http://www.rc-gajitz.co.uk and the chap I spoke to Tau, said if I send it off to him, he'll replace the tail power wire for free but after I done a few tests it had fried the brains unit, as smoke was coming out of that as well, plus I connected the main motor to the tail plug & he said if theres a little movement and only let it spin for a quick second then the yellow box is OK, but when you start up theres no life in it whatsoever.

So for the cost of a new main box £20 he said send it back and there repair it make sure everythings OK and return it.

They can't be anymore fairer then that, and right now I can't do any repairs due to personal reasons.

So it's a best case scenario, I mucked up, and there fix it all up with the cost of the box to cover damages.

So all doesn't seem lost.

Well quite, I did mention to Tau that I was a little bit worried to begin with, but he mentioned as there a small business they don't offer an address unless something like this happens.

Just goes to show you never know until a problem arises, and as this was my **** up they could have charged labour, but I can't fault them at all, he kept by the phone while I tested if the main box was still OK, and offered to repair it for free but I'll have to cover the cost of the box.

Thanks everyone, as Tau offered to have it fixed and all checked over I thought great.

You can't imagine the horror of seeing a heli flying with white smoke chocking the room out.

Number one rule, never use a different screw on the Buzzies where wires are concerned.

Of course I'd never give it up, but I hadn't had a fly around for the last few days and then this happens, talk about right w*nk off.
