  • What size blades for a Ornith with OS50

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me what size blades are used on a Ornith with a OS 50 engine. For the moment there are 55 cm wood blades on it but would a 60 cm blade make a difference? And what about carbon blades instead of wood?

I cant find any info on people running 60cm blades on an ornith. As standard it isnt a "proper" 50 but more of a 40ish size heli.

however, there is a "50 upgrade" part number s2502 package for the ornith, this includes a different gear ratio and a set of blades. but I am not sure if it includes a longer boom and tail drive.

i am awaiting a reply from the supplier for more info.

carbon/glass blades are more accurate and stronger which means the fly nicer and means you can run a higher headspeed.

I have confirmation, the std setup you cannot use 60cm blades the boom isnt long enough apparently.

the upgrade I mentioned not only allows you to use 60cm blades but also comes with a set :-)

Thanks for your reply Ade. I'll have to look out for one of those.
I have another question for you:
I would like to mount a header tank on my heli, is there something I should look out for, a special way it should be mounted?

height is pretty important. It needs to be level with the carb and as close to it as possible too.
