You had me all excited there for a while Richard. I thought you were abandoning the V Neo thingy and putting on a piece of stiff wire with paddles at the ends.
I don't know what Discord is either. Is it like one of those social medium sites that I won't join?

There are a few of us in the UK who sim somewhat regularly and chat in the evenings. The group is getting larger and it's a pain adding people. Facebook Messenger is generally awful and comes with the "friend" nonsense and having to start call. WhatsApp is better, but you get everyone's phone number and often you only have the number and no name, so we decided to switch to Discord. People join the group from a link and you can see who's in a chat before joining. It does screenshare which was useful yesterday when someone was struggling to register their simulator.
There's no "start a call", you just join a voice channel. When I was simming yesterday, I joined a channel, muted the microphone and carried on. People would drop in and out of the call, and was much better than the other ways we've tried.
Most of us have multiple sims and we switch around depending on who's on the call. We share moves and help each other, and I've found it quite useful. Some of us are very technical and up-to-date on the latest stuff, while others prefer to just fly, so it's a good mix.
I'm still using Phoenix V5.5 but these later version allow you to skid a helicopter along the grass and over tarmac to grass edges without it tipping over. Did'nt work last time i tried it at our field though lol!

And a tolerant wife, what more could any man ask for?
Phoenix did have built in voice chat, but in my experience very few ever used it. I bet I could count on one hand the number of times I heard speech come through, and I was on there every night for hours in 2013/2014
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.
Most had it turned off, bit awkward when your wife's watching corrie at the same time lol. People would play music down it. I'd have online sessions with Laurence with voice chat activated.

I'm not sure I could convince anyone, but if you sim in the evenings, it could be a good place to drop into.
Apologies, I was kinda aware what Discord was... but... I'm only aware of it through a group of people I play a silly game with. They keep on insisting I join their Discord group, but I really don't want to join a group of people I have never met, far less know nothing about. I almost caved and joined, until one of the group started shouting out about her love of guns (she's from America), and how she was orgasaming about killing Bambi and transporting it home in her jacked up pickup truck (I sh1t you not!)... Then another member got all excited, and started talking about his jacked-up pickup truck, then they started comparing rifles!... so I'm a tad reluctant to join groups I know little or nothing about.
The Fly Bar is still going well, with voice chat literally every night since we started. Tonight is Tech Tuesday and one of the members is doing a small presentation on Jeti radios at around 8 o'clock. Feel free to drop in for a listen or to ask questions.
The "small presentation" was quite the thing. Very well done indeed. I hope he recorded it, it would make a great youtube video.

Last nights presentation was excellent. Very well laid out.
