You all moan u don’t do Facebook as I used to 5 years ago but FB is buoyant with Heli stuff. The hangout has 4500 members and very active with 100s of posts a day in fact most of the guys that used to post on here are there now.
You do not need to be able to browse past topics for info the tech is moving fast you just ask a question and somebody helps you.

I still miss the forum as it used to be but you move with the times or you die

Just one of the many reasons FB is not a replacement for the forums. Threads move too fast on FB and everything disappears down the page, it was never really meant for this type of thing. It's for sharing pics of food and cute animals, and for people to show pics of some beauty spot and say 'look where I am' (without telling you where the hell it is).

Forums like this are ideally suited for the purpose, you can have multiple topics going and replies and comments stay organised, you can find older threads that answered a question, or revive them if there is new info on the subject. It's just many hundreds of percent better than FB will ever be for this kind of use.

I'm so glad I've lived most of my life in a world without social media. I don't class forums or YouTube as social media though.

Anyone seen "The Social Dilemma"? Interesting docudrama about FB, YouTube, Google, etc. I don't think it affects me much, but if you have kids, social media must be awful.

You are correct about the most but if you joined a dedicated Heli group like RC Heli Hangout with 4500 members with no politics, religion and stupidity posted you "MIGHT" just enjoy it.
