  • Goblin fireball-What are they like?

As in title, just wondering how people have got on with them?
Thinking of getting back into helis after a few years off and looking at something small, And inexpensive to crash(within reason).
I like the look of the havoc version

    thanks
    Sab Goblin 500

It's heavy, so needs high head speed. I only know one guy who had one. He got the SAB super combo with the servos and everything but sold it because he couldn't stop the tail wagging.

For something of similar size, there's the Oxy 3 to consider.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

Used to have the Fireball. Way too heavy for its size, so i sold it.
Kept flying my OXY3 and i am happy.

Oxy 3 is far superior, very cheap to crash especially with plastic blades

There was one on bmfa for £200 posted with 3 batteries (batteries alone are £120) , still wouldn’t touch it 🤕

I use my oxy3 instead of a simulator, most crashes cost me less than £2 & rarely over £15 , crash repairs are normally / feathering shaft £1 & a brass bolt on the main gear 10p both from eBay , plastic blades rarely break , I have reinforced the inside of the canopy & are still on the original

I bought a little Oxy2 to play with in the garden during lockdown and its a great little thing that I'd recommend. The quality of the kit was spot on and aside from being small (and my eyes knackered) it went together perfectly. Spares cheap and available from a couple of shops in the UK.

Not flown a fireball but had a 380 for a while. The 380 flew very well but was expensive to crash, the one real crash (nodded off during a stall turn and didn't pull out in time) I had with it was a re-kit, I didn't bother and sold off the good bits and recycled the servos into the Oxy.

I like the look of the oxy helis, they just dont seem to have any in stock in uk shops?
I had looked at the goblin listed on the bmfa before everyone told me to stay clear.

I also have considered the blade 230sv2 which gets good reviews, despite it being a blade heli

Stock was a problem for me too, I spoke with Hely-Shop and they were expecting a delivery within a few days so I ordered and sure enough it arrived within a week. I did end up ordering the motor and tail servo directly from Lynx which shipped from Vietnam (again only took about a week, but cost $15 in shipping). Might be worth giving Hely-Shop a call, I was impressed with their service.

There was a guy who posted a video of him on Facebook flying his trex 450 and he just kept crashing it and flying straight back up. It never broke! I'll see if I can find the video
