We really need to fix the education system once this is over.

Some people are clearly incapable of actually "thinking" before they act. They need to be taught to think instead of memorise. Especially now the latter is much less important than it used to be.,

Some lockdown eh. The neighbour has had her son turn up to visit on mother's Day, his ex popped round for a few hours, her grandson came round with his kids and cut the grass. Oh and she has a lung condition too. No she isn't incapacitated...she can mow the lawn herself.

Well... if they keep it in the family, perhaps Darwin will prevail and remove them from the gene pool

The education system is not the problem. In fact, it is a huge part of the solution. There is unfortunately no cure for human stupidity.

Education is certainly the solution, there is no doubt.

However, there are massive holes in teaching, such as logic and critical thinking not being taught at all. You can deduce mathematics using logic, and teaching logic first makes maths easier to understand.

In general, I agree. But as someone who works in a school that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving and meta-cognition as our norm, I'd like to stress that there schools out there doing all the right things.

Is it a private school by any chance? They tend to be way better at this sort of thing. If it's not, then I'm even more impressed.

I am at a private school. The teaching to the test was why I left the state sector. We can't teach kids all the stuff the need to know because it doesn't exist yet. We can, however, teach them to think!
