I totally agree with this so have just stripped down and sold my trusty old Trex 450 Sport v2 and got my hands on a 6s Trex 450L. Slightly bigger blades makes it a touch more stable BUT the main difference is the power from the new motor running on 6s It has so much power,I would have never believed a 450 could be so aggressive!!
I have a Trex 700 which is an awesome beast and this new 450L is giving it a run for it`s money on the weight/power ratio

How can we tell the difference between a V2?
Helicopter pilots get it up quicker.

When the blue light is flashing I am kidding.

Why simplify when it is so much simpler to complicate.

My recollection is that there was a Trex 450 SE V1, then a V2 (only very subtle changes). Then the V3 was also known as the Sport.

So the sport, which I apparently have, is a V3. I wonder how I can tell it is defo a V3 AKA Sport.
I have looked here but am no wiser.

The Sport has a slightly different frame design than the previous SE models, the rotorhead is a little different and the canopy that came with it was different.

Looks like in those manuals there is a Sport V2 as well, which I am not familiar with.

What it needs is something written on the heli that tells me what it is then!
I'll take a look at the canopies in the manuals and see if there is a match.

I can tell by the frames if it's an SE or a Sport, but I don't know without looking at those manuals what changed on the Sport V2.

Yes looking at the frame the manual that matches is this Sport FB super combo and lo and behold it has 450 sport embossed forward of the motor mount. How good is that??

I bought my first Trex Sport approx 10yrs ago and then bought the Trex Sport v2 approx 5yrs ago. Both are originally FB heli`s,I converted them both over to FBL.
I can`t actually recall what the differences were between the two versions(apart from canopy obviously),kinda like I can`t now remember the differences between the original Trex 550 V1 I had and then the Trex 550 V2 i later purchased ?

My first CP heli was a 450 sport, flybarred. After I lost it, in the pond near our club, I bought a Tesco bag with a load of parts in it. My friend who sold it to me had crashed two 450s.
It was just a collection of odd parts.
I built it as a 450 pro with a torque tube tail drive. It was 6s and I put on it an Align G Pro FBL unit (which is not as bad as people often say it is).

It is actually a very nice helicopter. Its main problem is my eyesight. I crashed it on the last outing because I let it get too far away. Time for a cataract operation perhaps!

My first was a nitro Hirobo Shuttle. After that I always found smaller helis to be too small and it is down to the size as they are always hard to see especially flying in a larger area. I had a Robbe Eolo which I thought would be good being smaller as it would need less room but I still needed to fly with the heli some distance away and it was too small. I crashed it once because of that but with NiCads it had no power and I crashed it because it was weedy.

There is a KDS Chase 360 (awesome little heli!), complete and ready to go (might need the FBL setup and an Rx) on Face book if you are interested. The heli is one of my old ones that i sold last year and I believe the new owner hasnt used it at all. It's a steal at that price. If interested i can give you the details
