Got this email from a customer today, i have removed details for obvious reasons, but you get his point. I will point out he is not a 3D pilot, but a progressing intermediate pilot, but still nice feed back :-)

Thanks for sorting me out today with the 700x batteries and the new 300x.
Took the 300x out for its maiden.
Wonderful piece of kit..
Silky Smooth, takes off and lands Perfectly, ZERO Tail wag. Nice and powerful.

I’ve got the ready to fly one, with the Align Tx as well. Not had a chance yet to fly it, but I took the blades off, all spooled up ok. Took the tail pushrod off, the tail is beautifully free moving, and I checked the grip bolts, they were thread locked. It’s actually been built well. The only thing I’ve changed so far is the 2 cyclic Servos on the sides, the Servo leads were trapped tight under the canopy mounts, so I removed the mounts, and moved the cables to above them. Much better. Also, I’ve replaced the XT30 with a XT60 on the Speed controller, because I have at least 10x 3s 1300 lipo’s from my quads.

Did the same thing Rctintin, seems a bit daft squeezing them under the canopy mounting posts... But so far I'm impressed with this little heli. Have you been sent the updated swash and links?

I had a parcel arrive containing a new swash plate and slightly thicker links. If you look at the current ones the plastic around the ball is very thin, so they have released an updated link - a new swash is needed to accomadate the thicker plastic on the link. The swash appears to be the same components but the ring below the ball that the DFC arms attach to is milled slightly to accept the thicker link. new links are provided for all 3 servo to swash rods and the 2 on the DFC arms. I'll post a picture later.

This is one of the reason I was considering on getting one as I have a few 1300 lipo's

This is typical of Align to bring out updates/upgrades soon after they've brought out a new model, I've decided I'm going to hang on a bit longer.

Duncan Osbourn brought one along to sunny MK today. It was fantastic! I know he is the best pilot in the world but even so the 300 moved around at lightning speed and there didn't seem to be a 3D manouevre that it couldn't do.

Of course I have no idea what it is like at hovering!

I wasn't expecting it to be very good but it seemed very capable. I think the headspeed was a bit over 4k, didn't seem overly high, which was nice, and the tail seemed really good. It didn't whine when pushed into fast funnels either way. 3 minute flight time of decent 3D and good speed. Didn't see it do any hovering.

The blades are interesting being wider towards the root, opposite to the VTX/Azure.

Align Trex have dropped the price so maybe not a good seller.
