Hi, I wonder if someone can help me, I have been given an ESKY Belt CP X that has been put together mechanically but the servo's, although all in place, were not connected to the receiver and the kit was missing a battery. I managed to get a new battery and I plugged the servo's into the receiver, as per the manuals instructions, and switched it all on. There was no activitity anywhere other the the gyro lamp pulsing. Can anyone assist me, should there be a power input into the receiver? What do I need to do? all polite contributions will be received gratefully. Chris

If it's 40 mhz there will be a crystal and the TX and RX must be on the same frequency. But.... 40mhz is a surface RC frequency. 35mhz is the designated aircraft frequency. The current standard is 2.4 Ghz which does not use crystals and the RX binds to the TX so that it communicates only with that TX.Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam

I started in this hobby with an RTF Esky King 2 collective pitch helicopter (which was slightly smaller than your 450 sized Belt CP), but came with the old style rate servo, an Esky 35mHz 0404 transmitter with 35.870 crystals, and it had supposedly been test flown at the factory. Eventually after many months of 'upgrades', and seemingly endless help and advice from members of the club I joined (motor changed to brushless, Esc, 401 head lock gyro, upgraded tail gears to increase the tail authority, Hitec servo's and eventually a Spektrum DX6i and receiver), it was finally hoverable. The main issue then was that plastic frame was far too flexible, causing the motor pinion to main gear mesh to constantly change, plus the main shaft 'wobbled' about when any cyclic inputs were used. In fairness it did learn me a lot about setting up (and repairing!!) helicopters, but the cost, both financially and timewise to get it into flying condition, was far greater than I would have liked. One of the members who helped me had a 35mHz Esky Belt CP flying on his 0404 transmitter which also had 35.870 crystals, so I suspect they were all supplied with the same crystals, but he eventually managed to pass his 'A' test with his, so they can be made to fly. Don't expect too much from it, and I would suggest putting a wanted advert on here or the BMFA classified site, but do not spend too much money on getting an original transmitter (£20.00 ish max), as there are loads of much better 35mHz transmitters going for that sort of price at swap meets etc, the main problem now could be getting suitable crystals.
Let us know how you get on.

Sorry the transmitter should have been 0406A not the 0404.
