The pc build went very well with no major issues. Only slight issue was i had to space the radiator off the top of the case a little as the screws supplied were to long. Good job i checked otherwise it would of probably punctured the radiator. But on the whole it was a fun experience. It took me around 5 hours, but now i could probably do it in half the amount of time.
I would recommend it to anyone who has not built a computer before. Was fun.
I am now to decide how i will arrange my monitors. I am on a 32" 1440 monitor at the mo but the plan is to expand that to 3 monitors. Probably 3x 27". But to be decided.
I also collected a goblinm black nitro the other weekend from a friend second hand. So will be dabbling with that.Kr

I have to ask, because they're not the obvious choice at the moment. Why Intel and not AMD?Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

As I am going with multiple monitors I thought it may be a benefit to have a cpu with onboard graphics for an auxiliary monitor that won’t be pushing the gpu. That was it really. Can’t give anything more constructive than thatOriginally posted by bigpops View PostI have to ask, because they're not the obvious choice at the moment. Why Intel and not AMD?Kr

A word of warning. Keep an eye on that Corsair cooler and your CPU temp. I've owned three Corsair closed loop coolers and all three failed (first one the pump failed, other two emptied themselves). I'm now back to using an air-cooled Noctua.Originally posted by cjm180 View PostThe pc build went very well with no major issues. You get the K or the KS on that i9? Plus that 2080ti - monster PC. Those Lian Li cases aren't cheap either.
I just upgraded to AMD 3800x which I'm very pleased with. I think I'll wait for Nvidias next set of cards before an upgrade though the flagship prices have been hard to swallow @£1k+ on release. My 1080ti seems OK @ 4k for the minute.
What games you play?Thunder Tiger Raptor E820 - KDE 700XF 395 - YEP 180A - Futaba HV 272/274SV - Bavarian Demon 3SX - SAB 800mm - 6.6V LiFE
Blade 450X - Stock AR7200 Beast X
DX8 - AR8000 + Sat & TM1000 Telemetry

How do you know if its failing? Just thru the temps?Originally posted by Gixxer View PostA word of warning. Keep an eye on that Corsair cooler and your CPU temp. I went with the 'ks' special addition but in hind sight I think that was a mistake. It is essentially an overclocked 9900k. Usually intels are 3 years warranty but this is only a year. I think the performance difference between the k and ks I don't think I would of noticed.Originally posted by woodsta888 View PostYou get the K or the KS on that i9? Plus that 2080ti - monster PC. I was using Corsair's own iCue software, which monitors the Corsair stuff and keeps an eye on temps, as pretty much everything in my case was Corsair at the time (most of it still is). It was a temperature alarm that alerted me to the problem. The first time it happened it was the pump that had stopped working, the following 2 times it happened were down to the system leaking. Strangely, I never saw any sign of a leak, but Corsair confirmed that the system was empty of coolant.Originally posted by cjm180 View PostHow do you know if its failing? Just thru the temps?
In Corsair's defense, their customer service is excellent, but I couldn't afford the down time, so I reverted to my trusty Noctua D15, which was much quieter than the Corsair coolers, and a more effective cooler, with zero chance of coolant leakage.
I did like water cooling but the novelty has worn off, and I'd much prefer reliability over trick stuff these days.
Actually, I take that back. Corsair's customer service was excellent, up until the point when I tried to fit my Corsair hydro cooler in my Corsair case, and it wouldn't fit. I had to remove the HD caddy from the case in order to get the cooler to fit, which was a bit crap, seeing as Corsair advertised the case as being able to accept the cooler I'd just purchased. I contacted Corsair and they looked into it, then posted on their forums that the H110i GT cooler didn't, in fact, fit this case, but that was the sum total of the shits they gave about the problem. They suggested I should purchase a different case, which they would kindly give me a discount on but I wasn't going rebuilding the PC for the sake of a caddy that I wasn't going to use, so I politely declined, but it was their mistake, and they should have rectified it and provided a remedy that wasn't going to leave me out of pocket.Last edited by Gixxer; 19-01-2020, 01:41 AM.

That was and is an awesome build Craig. Does tempt me to do something with mine. Just don't know what as I like to be able to get the car in and as it is the garage is rammed full with bikes and kids toys. Need to do something though for sure as the missus patience with me building stuff on the dining room table to bound to wear out sooner rather than later!
