What tool to shrink heatshrink?

Hi all

I have always used a lighter to shrink heatshrink, never really thought anything of it, but a buddy mentioned the other day that this is a bodge and I should be using a proper got air gun.

Can anyone point me to a recommended tool? Ideally quite small and cheap.

I use my hot air station. It's only a cheap one. Just look up 858D on ebay or Amazon.

Before that I used a hair dryer for big stuff like batteries, and the hot air attachment on my gas soldering iron on small stuff.

I use the heat gun attachment for my gas powered soldering iron

I use one of these, far less cumbersome than a hair drier or paint stripper gun and won't melt anything by mistake! -

Hair dryer for me too. I have the wife's old one in the garage for heat shrink and softening carb rubbers.

I use a lighter too because it does the job in 95% of the cases.. for the other cases I have a hair drier.

being challenged in the hair department please can anyone recommend some councilling as with all this talk of hair dryers has made me feel discriminated against
