  • I can do a K1 manouver...........

yay, UK 3D champ here I come (20??), I can do traveling back flips............
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

    And a DX8 too

Well done Jamez, (couldn't resist the you tube post)
I can not imagine how you would start to do such a manouvre. I have seen it and they performed it very low as well. No room for error.
If I attempted one it would end in misery from any height.
Another impressive manouvre is one where the heli is stationary and goes from upright to inverted whilst the rudder is changinging the direction of the tail, I cant get my head around that on either.

        Cheers,

what a half piro flip??? fairly easy but carrying it on its NAILS. just ask my beater 450 how they feel!!!! i can do 2 or 3 piro flips and it all goes tits up, quite regularly. doing the backwards flip thingy travel backwards at approx 20 mph and use full back elevator and use the pitch to maintain altitude. thats the theory but in practice quite a lot harder

Yeah pro flips, thats the one. Tried it on the sim but have no idea how to start, maintain or finish, the move!

As for the backflip, I think I had better learn to fly backwards first(and forwards properly) before attempting that one!

              well here goes, (deep breath)

hover at 10 feet or so any orientation and use full rudder any direction, now the tricky part you need to stir the cyclic stick in the OPPOSITE direction at the same speed as the heli is pirouetting. timing is critical here, basically you are stirring the stick to keep the flip going in the same direction, and then as the heli goes inverted and upright obviously adjust the collective to maintain altitude. sound easy doesnt it?!?! i assure you ITS AS HARD AS NAILS ask my 450!!! there is no easy way to do them as i can see but ade law may be able to help with tips on this trick. when i can do a sustained one ill video it but as i can only flip twice before i crash ill kep practicing.

back flips are easy if you can do static flips and fly backwards fairly straight just join the two together

jamie, I'm guessing that if you tried the youtube type of backflip, like me, it would end about the same way as with your heli...

I do a piro flip that involves just one turn of yaw for each flip. mostley thay try to do two yaw turns per flip which looks much better.

Imagine the heli starts nose in, then does a 1/4 flip, so its now nose up, skids towards you, then it does a stall turn (180 yaw) then it does the rest of the half flip but becuase it turned round its down elevator instead of up so it it is now nose in inverted.
now you start the yaw as it starts the half flip, but to keep it straight it needs a bit of aileron, becuase it already turned round you need to rerverse the elevator then to complete and end up nose in inverted it needs the other aileron. now what you just did was a little circle with the right hand stick, and you have to keep that circle the right size and going round in time with the yaw turn rate. Meanwhile just like in a stationary flip you have to give a jab of collective +ve when right way up and negative when upaside down. if you aren't doing sharp enough stabs with the collective then it moves about a lot!

                Good luck.

                  Thanks for the explanations,
Once the bits to fix the last crash arrive I will go out and give it a go, and just to speed up the repair process i will just order a new heli now!!!

Not tried this one, Im guessing it working the collective through the flip to keep up the momentum thats the hard bit.
                      All the best
