  • Cyclock1 setup

    Hi guys

was trying to decide if I should start this thread or just go straight to the people that know and ask all sorts of questions, but I thought if anything comes out of it it will help anyone else out there setting one of these devices up.

Firstly It looks really simple the basic setups are easy. set your transmitter to standard take all atv's up to full etc. plug it in and set up the directions of the servos then the amount of movment, then I noticed something, I noticed it tucked away at the back of the instructions it says that for 120 degree swash the centre servo elevator gain should be approx double the left and right gain.

now this is where it all started going pearshaped for me, where I had setup the pitchrange and everything was going well I noticed as I moved elevator the washout was moving a little up and down, so I tried to tweek this out with the elevator to collective gain. problem, as I adjusted for forward the backward got worse, this is where I noticed the instructions re 120 swash. I changed that and sure enough I could then tune out the movment, however now the arm from the rear servo moves so much its hitting the tail mound....GGGGRRRRRRR.. at this point I gave up and went to bed

quick questions for those that know once setup do you leave all the ATV's at maximum?

Am I right in that when I move the controls there should be no movment on the washout slider?

if I turn the flybar along the boom, I shouldnt get movment at all in the paddles when operating elevator, and visa versa across the heli when opperating aileron?

a few for you to start with, have to say im enjoying this so far even if it dont sound like it (far better than building a plank )
    All the best
    Tony.

Sounds like you are getting along fine, just read the supplied manual a few times and follow step by step and you will soon get the hang of it. ATVs should be left at maximum.

not the washout no. depends on the heli. its the ball in the swash that should stay perfectly still when moving the cyclics.

the instructuions say to leave the atv in the radio at max but there is no issue with reducing them a bit. only downside is you loose some of the resolution you gained by fitting the cyclock.
