Ive been away for a while cos housemate decided to end our internet connection early but now im in my new house im back again. I can now head on hover and have just started doing my circuits. Reading a bit on the forums it seems that most people leave head on hover right till the end of their learning but i believe it is an essential skill for successful flying. What do you guys think?
I learnt it by learning to head on hover the Lama SR with the paddles so its as sensitive as it can go then went out with my sceadu and started piroheutting and holding them for longer and longer. Now it just feels natural like hovering tail in.
Just need to practice my circuits both ways and ill be going onto loops and rolls, then hopefully inverted hovering.
Bearing this in mind im hoping to earn a lot of money this summer and ive always wanted an SZ IV rotor head for my sceadu. Looking on midland helicopters it looks about 400 for the whole lot, my question is how much of an increase in flight performance will this head yield when i move into 3D? Or would it be better just to spend the money on a better heli? Im also planning to put a 50SXH in it aswell.
Sorry if I sound like im jumping the gun with my flying but ive found i perform if i push myself.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated
Paddy
