  • Raptor 50 v2 Bnib, how much is it worth?

So today I had a good look around my local hobby shop and under a load of old circa 2005 kits there was a shiny new raptor 50v2, I blew the dust off the box and that got me wondering.

So so now I’m thinking of going back to my roots and having the heli I cut my teeth on back in 2005. How much are these worth now and can you still get the spares readily?

Is is it worth buying building and flying ?

Hard to say with certainty how much a new kit is worth. In terms of what the heli market is interested in it will have very limited appeal so it really should be blown out cheap unless the shop wants it as shelf-dressing forever . But... it's still perfectly flyable, always did look cool as they had great styling IMHO. I still have mine! But I'm not flying it anymore as I have really moved away from nitro.

As far as I know it's pretty much Ebay for spares but as there were so many in circulation it would appear that most parts are not too hard to find, I always see lots of Raptor stuff for the 50V2 / Titan etc. (although I have not been out looking lately).

I did a bit of the 'going back to my roots' earlier in the year and got my Knight 3D out again, flybarred head, OS50 Hyper. I was pleasantly surprised as how quick it was and that everything pretty much just worked straight away (except the trim was out a bit, swash needs levelling).

In general, older nitro airframes are sometimes hard to even give away. I bought the Knight 3D airframe in built but like new condition for £75.00 from Fastlads. A brand new kit, never built and still in the box is worth a bit more due to both being new and also letting you have the build experience as well. It's one of those things where on the one hand it should be cheap as chips and on the other hand a new one in the box is kinda rare now

At that price it will be sitting in the shop long enough to replace that thick layer of dust you blew off.... The shop owner missed a golden chance to at least get something back on a kit who's value must have been written off years ago.

Given it's age and what's available these days, I'd say £80-100 would be a more realistic price or thats all id be prepared to pay.
