Best iron to use is a temperature controlled on of around 50W for most of the bullet sizes we use. The most important thing with any soldered joint is cleanleness, so the bullet and the wireshould be clean and free from any grease plus I always dip the wire ends into a resin paste flux (e.g. Templar) then tin the wires and add a coating of flux to the inside of the bullet or connector too. Apply heat to the bullet then feed in some solder to create a bath in the bullet then with the heat still applied push the pretinned wire in and add more solder if needed until the bullet is full. Finally do not move the assembly until the solder has solidified but as with any artform the more practice you get the better the results.
