Try ercmarket.com or world of heli for the parts

World of heli don't have the blades (align 690 3g, or the old rectangular 105's) id like. I'd not heard of ercmarket before, I'll give them a try.

I used to use 2 sats in my BD3sx's and on one heli suffered momentary shutdowns but no loss of control.

So I swapped to full RX with one sat. I have the full RX in the nose of the heli and the sat on the top of the tail boom at the back ensuring the recommended 30cm minimum between Rx's. I also use a Y lead from my Po4Life/Rx Lipo so that both the RX and the FBL receive their own supply direct from the source.

Only thing I can think of maybe why yours pitched up is did you have the failsafe set? Maybe inadvertently it has recorded with some stick input that you didn't realise at the time?

You can set the failsafe to use the BD3SX - so on mine I set it to self level, motor off and have -3 blade pitch so a signal failure will have the heli level and a hopefully more 'cushioned' landing onto the skids with a preset guess at something that resembles an auto-auto. It would be circumstantial as to whether it worked or not depending on horizontal and vertical speeds.

Is that your failsafe setting on the RX or the BD3SX ?

            Hi,

On the RX - so you need to set the RX to enable the recording of the failsafe to read what you set on your TX or what you want the heli to do on signal failure, so you want it to see the tx set to self level, throttle hold and pitch in the negative. So long ago I did this but I think you use the bind plug to set the failsafe?

I use spektrum so followed a guide I saw on helifreak where someone had this idea for my DX8.

Here is a DX9 link and you may find a link to the DX8 through this one. If I have it saved at home and I remember later I'll post another link

            https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=575185

I do wonder if your ESC hit it's thermal limit and shut the ESC down as it spiked to 700F. Was this a spike or did the graph show a climb to high temperatures. If it was a spike then I'd say that the thermal sensor is malfunctioning in the ESC - you should've still had control though if your servos etc have their own power supply and not from the ESC BEC.

I also use the TM1000 by spektrum where you can record signal strength and have it live on your TX display and it will beep when dropping signal or showing signal 'HOLDS'.

Thanks for the link; I'd read somewherre that you set in on the RX that way, but I wondered if you had the fail-safe set in the BD3SX.

I've decided to replace the ESC during the rebuild; I don't want another crash to be caused by it and take the heli out of action whilst I wait for parts to fix it again.
