Ive gave it to the itch of buying & learning to fly again ..
Last time I got to fixed pitch blade MSr ...
Should I get the same or something new ?
Not looked around to see if new gear out etc etc

How competent did you get last time? Many new helis have self levelling stabilisation systems built in which makes then easier to fly for a novice. If you are looking at Blade helis look for the ones listing the feature called 'SAFE'.. This is Blade's name for their own stabilising system.

I suggest getting hold of a sim and just practice flying around for a bit. Look for a used 450 size heli with rescue while you get back into the grove.

If you could hover and do circuits then you should be able to cope with something a bit more advanced. If you get a flybarless system with stabilisation you should find it easier if anything than your old mSR. You can pick up a lightly used 450 CP heli for next to nothing these days. Some practice on a sim is good advice too so you can get back into the groove safely.

I'd start by playing with a sim for a while. It'll help you decide whether to go fixed pitch again or jump into CP (collective pitch) heli's. When I started I worked on the sim a fair bit and went and bought a fixed pitch heli only to find that I only flew it a handful of times before I was bored. CP is the way to go ideally.

If, for instance, you went for a Blade 230S you'd find that their SAFE system pretty much allows you to fly a CP heli with FP (fixed pitch) skills but it also allows you to develop into a full 3D heli if that's where you want to go (it's not an indoor model though). The XK 110 is also great for a small heli as it is CP with both 3 & 6 axis gyros, cheap and crashes with minimal damage.

I think if I was starting out again, I would buy both (I did, although only after suffering all sorts of other crappy heli's) as they give you a good enough grounding to move onto bigger things with little pain.

I agree with Grumpy though, a 450 of some description is far nicer (and to an extent, easier) to fly but only after you've got some sim hours and real life experience under your belt as they are much more dangerous to fly and more expensive to crash.

It's all comparative. A 700 is dangerous to fly and expensive to crash. It is very much easier to fly than a 450 though.

It is indeed, but nobody in their right mind would advise a relative beginner to buy a 700! It's a shame really, they are so brilliant to fly in comparison that everyone should be able to try one but just like you can't get a pilots licence without the flying hours, you shouldn't fly a 700 without a lot of experience (unless you are wealthy, fly in a huge deserted field whilst in a concrete bunker of course).

To be fair, I learnt on a micro, then went to a 450, and was shocked how much easier it was to control, but very scarey all the same. I flew the 450s for about 2 years, then bought a 700 off a mate..my god.. it was like flying a bus, micro reaction time is soooo much quicker than a 700..its easy, and if you can auto rotate a 450, a 700 is really easy too. Just dont kill yourself..
