The forum has been so quiet this year, it makes it feel like the hobby is dying, however, there is still a lot of flying still going on out there. Unfortunately most of the information, pics and videos end up on FB where nothing ties together and it's impossible to find anything unless you're friends with everyone, or at least stalking them.

For example HeliManiacos was on this weekend. I would have liked to go this year, but as I'm not friends with the right people, don't follow the right groups and it wasn't posted here, I never knew it was on.

I was trying to think of a way to unify all the information into one place to make it easy, and then I realised it already exists and it's here. The difficulty is that this forum is driven by questions, and most of the questions have already been answered. One way to fix it is to post information. Although a lot of the stuff is on facebook, most of it is public and you don't need an account to view it.

A lot of members like myself came to this site to get help and meet up with other like minded people .For me it worked well and I can honestly say I have met lots of wonderful people on here and that has carried on outside the forum and i still do meet up with lots of them at heli events and my own club events .the site took a down turn a few years ago when a lot of bad felling was spread across it so a lot of the genuine members left or just pop in now and again as they have found Facebook a better way to communicate and frequently add to their friends list .It would be great to see the forum that Stuart set up all those years ago get back to what it was and meant to be. It has helped me very much and for that I say thank you to all those that did take the time to help others as well.

Nothing to do with the forum, but if you feel like the hobby is dying, come to F3N next year. It was good to have someone break-up the usual podium line-up at Mid Staffs.

I don't do facebook either. Everything I know about helicopters has been gained from this forum or from my excellent clubmates at MK.

I don't think that the hobby is in decline. I think there are a lot of people not pursuing it at the moment but many of them will be back.

I predict that next year's F3N competition will be well supported and hotly contested.

I tried it briefly 4yrs ago and it was full of arseholes. I'm not implying any of you guys are arseholes but that was my experience. I won't be creating another account.

Facebook makes me laugh...just today i got blocked by the worlds biggest drama llama just because i 'thanked' a post on here fpmsl

It's good because this forum is now the only place i have to put up with it's pathetic, lame as f*** outbursts....

A very well known memeber on here that’s constantly causing shit storms in tea cups at or after every event going. TBH I’m surprised a event wide ban hasn’t been implemented.
