  • Soldering iron?

Ok my old one has about had it there ain't much tip left and tbh it was cheap anyway.
So what is a decent iron for soldering mostly serve leads and 4mm plugs and where do I buy one that doesn't cost a fortune? Also a changeable tip would be handy as I sometimes need to solder small circuit boards.

Buy one of the Hakko 936 clones off ebay (or Hobbyking, if they have UK stock). Cheap as chips. Great for light and medium duty (up to about 12awg cable), and takes genuine Hakko tips.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

I use one of these - just use the tip of the torch for heating up bullets and tinning ends - direct heat variable flame size. Has various tips. As it's gas can use at the field if required.

+1 on the Antex TCS50.......bought one a few months ago, solders anything including EC5's with ease, buy the wider tip for it (or a selection like I did)
