  • Bk3001hv 8volts?

Here we are again, shops website says bk3001 voltage range is 6-8v, great so iv ordered a set, they turn up (3days late I will add) and the packaging says 5-7.4V.. Again the power supply im using only gives an option for either 6 or 8.. Are people flying 3001s at 8volts with no problems? Or have I wasted money on expensive micros because im still safer at 6V?
    Cheers guys

7.4V is the 'nominal' voltage based on operating off a 2S LiPo. A fully charged 2S Lipo is 8.4V, so the servos must by design be ok for that voltage, they will be fine at 8V.

Cheers mate. That was exactly the generic answer I was expecting though tbh, in theory as you say they will be fine but I was sort of hoping for someone that owns some to pipe up saying they have been running 8.4V with zero faults.

Iv already broken a servo on the maiden of this heli and put it in.. All fixed up now and going to the field in a minute so fingers crossed its an event free re maiden lol

fair enough.. all I can really say is if it were mine I'd feed it 8V without a second thought, but it's not mine, so your call.

Here's what Bert says about the subject in his servo FAQ's:

Do I need to run your servos are high voltage?
Yes you should! Our servos were manufactured for high voltage operation. Even though they will operate well at voltages as low as 5.5V, we recommend running at least 6V with 8V being the ideal voltage of operation.

Hell yes dude thats all the reassurance I need!! Crank it up to 8V it is then! Thank you very lots mate
Got 6 flights on it this afternoon at 6V, hopefully get back out in the morning so will see if I can actually feel the difference
            Cheers dude
