Flying with no boom supports?

I accidentally screwed in to where the tail boom supports should go and now I can't unscrew the screws and ended up rounding them (using upgraded screws and not basic trex screws)

So now I'm wondering... is it safe to fly without boom supports? I don't do hard 3d and actually, at the moment, I'm relearning as I've not flown for about 2 years! The most 3d I can do is learning TicTocs!

The heli does look nice without boom support so I'm wondering if it's safe to fly without?

Chances are it probably needs the supports. When I was flying a Trex 450SE if the supports got loose the tail would start to wag intermittently due to the boom flexing.

The Compass Atom 500 didn't use boom supports because they used a really large diameter tube but generally speaking helis that do have the supports need them. If you fit one of the 'speed fuselages' it will do the same job as the supports so they won't be needed.

If its fitted with them chances are you will need them. Helis that don't use supports would have been designed with stiffer booms to prevent flex.
