Buying from China

Hi

Just came across this shop based in China : Banggood.com. Was wondering if anyone has purchased from them and if so, were they reliable and did you get hit with customs charges,etc?

I've not used banggood, but generally when I have ordered from china, I have only had customs charges when using express shipping methods. The cheaper methods have never been an issue.

I've ordered from Banggood a couple of times.

Not had any customs charges so far, but they are a bit unreliable on the 'in stock' indicator.

Not uncommon to order only to find they didn't really have everything in stock...

I've used BangGood before and in fact I've got a heli in transit from them right now. They are pretty good. The web site is easy to use, in my experience they have had the stuff in stock and they ship pretty quickly. Their customer service answer queries pretty quick too.
If you take the lower cost shipping options then you need to be patient as delivery will take a around two weeks maybe more, but that's something you have to accept if buying from China. BangGood often mark down value on the customs declaration which helps get it in under the customs radar, but there is no guarantee. In my experience small packages usually go unnoticed but bigger stuff usually comes under scrutiny, as do express courier shipped items. If customs does pick the package up you get charged 20% VAT plus a (typically) £12-£15 handling fee.

As with the others, used them a number of times - everything that I've bought has always been in stock and shipped within 48 hours (often much faster).

As others have said shipping can take some time - I wouldn't buy stuff from any Chinese sellers if I want it urgently, but prices are good and they have stuff that you can't get other places.

I've not been hit with custom charges yet, but it's all been small orders...

I've used them about 20 times , prices are usually good & I still use them ,Occasionally they can be selling things they don't have in stock taking 3 weeks just to get them shipped !!!! It's Always been low cost items & I've never paid any additional customs costs , post is usually 2-3 weeks BUT has been as long as 7 weeks

I've bought loads of quad stuff from them, never a problem. I also bought my HiSky HCP100S from them and use them for spares for that when it needs them.

Here's a tip though, don't stick everything on one order. Break them up into separate orders as the postage is free anyway. That way, if there's a hold up on one item, it doesn't affect the other orders.

I've had loads of stuff of banggood, quad bits, heli bits, a couple of mobile phones, chargers, plugs, leads, antennas....... Lots of stuff

Shipping is slow if you use the free option.

Only been hit with customs once, and that was on a phone from them.

Also some things are stocked in their eu warehouse.
Not usually the things you want granted.

But I couldn't resist that 480N heli, especially as it was stocked in the EU warehouse.
Delivery took 2 days.

Here's a tip for you also.
If you download the Banggood app you will get a 10% discount for your first order (via the app)
This had 20% off in the sale, then I remembered the app, and just registered with another email address.
Ended up with 30% off lol

Imbuy lots from banggood. They are great value and the quality is great also. Only issue is the arrival times. Can take up to 8 weeks sometimes for things to arrive. I also buy from other stores in China and it arrives in 2 weeks. So my only issue is their shipping. It gets to you but it takes ages.

Good tip re: app discount. Think I will give them a try and will update here on what happens. I'm in no rush for the kit I want (unfortunately,not available from Eu warehouse) so only the customs issue to contend with.

The heli I have on the way from BangGodd is the new ALZRC Devil 420 Fast (Goblin 420 clone).. I got this for the unbeatable price of nothing

Only condition is I do a build review, which cant be a bad deal! This is the heli, by all accounts quality is comparable to the goblin: Devil 420 FAST at BangGood

I just remembered that I've had a few items from bangood arriving damaged , 450 canopy's & something else , there was next to no packaging on them
so a bit frustrating, they did refund me without a problem after I sent them pictures
