  • Futura SE

A mate of mine is wanting to sell me his Robbe Futura SE. It has only been hovered once from brand new and is therefore mint despite it not being flown for some years.

It is fitted with an OS61SXH WC and pretty basic Futaba radio gear along witha Futaba GY501 (i think).

What do you reckon it's worth and are spares still available as i realise it is an old model now.
he wants about £300 for it.

Not sure about Futura SE second hand prices but I've been paying around £180 for Robbe Millennium II Airframes (some of them in Carbon).

Personally I wouldnt pay much more than £250 and I would then stick the radio and engine either on ebay or in for secondhand sale.

I had the Futura Supersport. Flew really well as if on rails. However, the futura is dated and the spares are quite expensive compared to other brands. They have a strange control setup which I think puts people off. Nice heli, but does not seem to have a strong re-sale attraction.

With regards the radio. It's difficult to comment on the Tx, but the GY501 is a good gyro (basically a GY401 with a LCD). However, it's obsolete, so if it fails, you won't be able to get it fixed.

Robbe have a outlet in the UK, but I couldn't tell you if they stock much for this. I used to get all my bits from Midland Helicopters.

I've not had an issue with spares for my Millie II but I do own 3 spare airframes which I have broken down into spares.

Off the shelf spares I have managed to get from Midland or Skyline and if they cant then I go to http://www.rcmarket.org/
