It's a pity that Align seem to think we all fly at maximum headspeed and can all do manoeuvres like a pro.......why can't they also show some sports style flying and low-headspeed ability.....

My TT e700 runs at 1650 RPM and is beautiful to fly, low-headspeed and longer flying times seem to be the 'in-thing' at our club......

I have a 600 e pro. It is getting on a bit now but it is difficult (for me) to imagine how it could be improved. It may be that the tail gear ratio could be increased to suit hard 3 D fliers but I like the fact that it is 12 s and it has an elegant anti-rotation/ elevator bracket.

It's not (just) hard 3D guys that struggle with the tail ratio. The only guy at our club that has the 600Pro had to put 105mm tail blades on it so the tail would hold in aggressive flips. I told him to either up the head speed to 2200+, or fit 105s and put some rake on the landing gear. He chose the latter and is now perfectly happy with the tail.

Seems unfair to single out Align for this criticism though. Every manufacturer when unveiling their new model heli gets their sponsored pro pilot to thrash the living daylights out of it. Since when did any of them get an average club flyer to do their promos?

The thread was supposed to be about the 760X which uses a tail ratio similar to most other 700+ helis out there (4.73:1) , so shouldn't be an issue.

The 600 Pro/Dominator is a totally dferent heli which shares no parts with the 700/760X. The 600 does have an issue with low tail gearing but FWIW it's not 100% safe to fit 105mm tail blades because there isn't enough clearance between mains and tails and in some circumstances they can clip each other in flight. It's ok 99.9% of the time but blade to blade strike can and has happened, especially so on the DFC with it's lower head. The cases I've seen only caused chipped tail blades though, so maybe not such a big deal.
