  • Kst 215mg voltage?

Evening folks, just acquired a set of kst 215 servos to replace the dead savox in my 380... Thanks Alex! These servos are rated 7.4v but as the castle bec only gives the option for 6 or 8volts, am I best sticking to 6v or has anyone ran them successfully at 8v?
    Cheers in advance
    Dan

If they're HV then they're rated for a nominal 2S voltage which is 7.4. A fully charged 2S will reach 8.4v (4.2 per cell), theres not an awful lot of info about them. Is this for a 450 or similar, don't you have a BEC on the ESC

Thats pretty much what I was thinking dave but they dont actually say HV anywhere on them. Just a sticker stating torque and speed at 7.4v..
For a goblin 380 mate and sorry yes, I should have said I am using the internal bec on the talon 90, only choices are 6v or 8v. I have no external bec on this heli

You know what I don't know the answer, when they state the voltage on a LiPo they use the nominal in use voltage. A fully charged 2S will quickly drop below 8v and we usually see 7.4v being used, I'm sure the whole point of the 2 settings are for HV voltage but I can't find anything to say they're HV apart from the 7.4v reference. In fairness theres not much in performance between the 2 voltages

They will be fine at 8V.. It's a similar story even with 'old school' 5V servos, they were designed to run off a 4S NiCd pack that has nominal voltage of 4.8V, but fully charged fresh off the charger the pack would be at close to 6V

Great! Except iv just noticed there seems no way to fit a micro servo to the tail so im stuck using the align 525 thats already fitted. These though are rated 6v.. So I guess im screwed anyway lol

Does that mean the goblin 380 you have up for sale is no longer for sale ?

Not necessarily Kenny no, it just means the deal may get tweaked to now include a set of kst servos and hobbywing ESC in fact after a conversation this morning I could sort of do with it selling. Fire me a pm if you are interested buddy
