Engine temp sensor

I would like to setup a temperature sensor on my 600 nitro engine with my DX18, what would be needed to do this...?

Tm1000 should have all you need included in the pack. I used to run one one my 700 and dx9 combo. Worked until it broke, bit of a pain when pulling the engine to reseat it but was nice to have the ability to set an alarm when the engine was over heating.

I'll order the TM1000 but then would i need a sensor for the engine...?

Aww that's handy, only other info, do I need to have a receiver as well as im only on sats with fbl unit.

No you just won't get the radio signal strength - flight log data. I used it with a spartan running sats.

Ok im now all setup with the TM1000 working of my 600n Gpro, what Celsius would i need to set in my tx telementry for my TT Redline 56 engine, any ideas...?

This is a bit theoretical but in my opinion essentially 50-120 glow engines all run at approx the same temp. I always remove bearings in the oven at 150 degrees C. On the smack talk engine tuning Bert K says...

"200-210 Fahrenheit or 90-100 degrees C as measured with temp gun on landing."

now he is is measuring on landing - so it's cooled down, just under the heat sink. So for me I used to set the temp at 100. But I think this was a little too conservative as I could hit the alarm when doing continuous tic-tocs. But I would recommend tuning manually first as the temp read by the sensor may not be 100% accurate, then use the sensor to alert you when it gets much much higher, i.e. When something has failed

Been a long time since ive done heli nitro tuning & cant seem to get mine as ld like with 30% fuel, should i use the extra head gasket in the kit & does it get used with the existing gasket or on its own.
