Crowd fund it then George and I'll borrow yours Lol. But what you're saying is it's for pilots at the certain level who are stuck on a move. That's going to be a relatively small market and will be useless to noobs. I also wonder if this is a new sim or if a current one is being used as the platform. Look at accurc they've have been updating for years now and still have few fans ?

No i'm not saying it's purely just for pilots of a certain level although as i said it could be a useful aid for people like me that are stuck on something.

As for new pilots? Unless you have Kyle Stacy style Jedi powers it would still be a big stretch going from piro flips on Stickmover to actually doing them at the field. And so what if someone actually does do that, does that make them cheats? Not in my opinion as however you learn you still have to have the talent to be able to do the moves wether using a sim or Stickmover or anything else for that matter. Lets face it there's some people that will never ever be able to do piro flips even after 10 yrs on something like Stickmover so it's just never going to be the one stop answer for anyone learning to fly.

You're completely right though Don in as much as it's still not a massive market whoever decides to buy it.

I have had one for a couple of months now. I was a little sceptical to start off with but thought I would give it a try as not managed to get out to the field much this year with work travel. I don't have any expert help pilots at my club and my brain is not as good as it was to learn new things. I found looking at you tube videos with the stick movements it useless. The software that comes with it basically plays a video that was captured by a pilot and replays their movements on the sticks. With a few of the moves I found quite a few eureka moments with saying "oh so that is what they are doing". It takes you through progressively faster replays until it is at 100% speed. With this app you do need to be able to fly in the first place and be able to do all your orientations. So probably only useful for intermediate pilots.

The next part is where I feels it excels further. When combined with the neXt sim (yes I have AccuRC and do prefer it for the physics... it does not yet have stickmover support) the stickmover (IMHO) has much more utility. You can keep your Tx plugged in while another person (in this case my 7 year old son) has the stickmover. When you fly the stick mover replicates the movements I am making and my son gets to feel what you need to do to fly. He can call out what he wants and then I fly it and he learns what happens. Then after a few repeats I can hand him my tx. Also in neXt you can replay any saved flight (even the training ones) and the stickmover does its thing. This would be great for people to exchange manoeuvres or to replay what was just done to see where things could be improved. I have used this a lots to tune my speed flying reverse half cuban eights and have got much more confidence in doing them in real life and improved their consistency.

Hope my findings are helpful. Its not for everyone but I find it another useful tool in the toolbox to help out.

I think Midland has one in the shop for demo purposes. I've been meaning to go over and try their VR setup as well.

I have 2 stickmovers, they were given to me ages ago by my mum. I call them thumbs and they have managed to see me through ok.

How does this work with Finger and thumb fliers?
I am debating if this will help me get past my virtual wall with regard to progressing.
I fly quite rarely these days to the point I am not 100 % I will stick with the hobby (I know, Blasphemy), but if this got me past my current skill barrier I'm thinking it could re-invigorate me to continue with it.

Here is a picture of my jeti beside the stickmover. So the sticks are very similar in location and the height of the stick can be adjusted just like your tx (they are basically futaba style stick ends). So expect it would be no trouble to use but I am all thumbs

Surely unless you hold the sticks like they're made of wet tissue then you'll prevent the sticks from moving freely. I think the motors inside will burn out quick. Unless your physically moving them I'm not sure you'll gain muscle memory?

When I first used it the stick ends nearly tore the tips of my thumbs off (from what I understand they are cyclic servos inside). A couple of the manoeuvres rapidly bring the collective stick down at the start and if you are on the sticks as I normally fly then it hurts. As above Ive had mine for a few months.. so can't talk about longevity but not had any problems so far and seems to be helping me.
