  • Leaving the hobby...advice needed

    Hello all
been in the hobby since 2006 and with a heavy heart, work and personal situation is preventing me to continue.
i have a hobbyking 600gt and a gaui 450 stretched to a 500 that have sat on the shelf for the last 2 years and am looking to put up for sale.
the 600 has 4 lipos, 2 turnigy 5000mah nano tech and 2 5000mah standard, the gaui 2 3000mah zippy lipos. All balance charged.
my question is, are they still in use or have things moved on to better tech and would there be interest if they appear on the sale section.
Please forgive me posting here, I'm not asking for an offer or to any advice on value, just whether it's worth the advert
    thanks in advance

I would stick then on eBay and see where it goes. I doubt the interest will be much more than spares tbh and the lipos are pretty worthless. Neither are current models or sought after. The tech moves pretty fast but good luck in what you decide

Hi Davy, Sorry to hear you are leaving us. As with most things, they are only worth what someone will pay but there are still plenty of people around flying the old technology nitro Raptors, Shuttles and early flybarred electrics, plus it is a good time to put them up for sale with Christmas looming. Best of luck and hope to see you back on here sometime and remember the words of the Eagles song "you can check out any time but you can never leave" it is an addiction after all!

          All,
thank you for the advice and more importantly, thank you for the kind words!
I'm keeping my Trex 150 and possibly my Trex 500, in case the urge and time returns.
im not throwing in flying, I'm CAA qualified to fly drones (I await the tar and feathering!) which we use at work to do roof inspections, construction project progression and topographic surveys, 15000m2 survey completed in around 30 mins/2 flights!
I will still be lurking here, some good folks and made a few friends along the way
again, thanks to all, friends and to the forum
