  • EC5 issues?

I bought some of these from ebay (i know i know but the quantum ones were out of stock) but the bullets would not fit inside the shells, even when hammered. I remember an issue like this last year with a load from hobbyking i think it was. I had a look in my hobby cave and found 3 NIP quantum EC5's id bought from fastlads a few months ago, These are the ones ive always used on my helis, but low and behold the same issue with them. The bullets appear to be 5.5mm and the shells require a 5mm. no amount of force will get them in the shells without disfiguring the shell. Anyone else had issues like this?

i had the same issue with these:

Quantum 4.0mm gold plated connector with long red housing Q-C-0045

In the end i did move over to the EC5's, although i have not had the same issue with these as you have had. Assmuming its the correct bullets for the plastic outer, i took a small needle file and just revelived the edge inside the plastic outer.

I am eventually going to migrate over to those supra connections. They look great.

I use the 'good' EC5s and I've had a few of them split. I don't have antispark on my 120A HV ESC so I'm wondering if the sparking on connection is weakening the plastic?

I tried the file myself but even removing some of the lip and the outer edge of the bullet they still wouldnt fit, And to be honest that lip is the only thing holding the bullet in place as you push it into the esc male connector.
