Tail slider bearings

Hi,

The bearings on the tail slider on my G4 are a little gritty. It still spins very easy, with no resistence, but when you I spin it in my hand, it feels like there's grit in there. Would you change them?

The new slider is £11 ish, but is it worth me baking them first? I'm sure I have some bearings of the same size somewhere.

You must have a doubt about them in the first place to put a post up......So at the speed they spin and the cost i would replace them....

£3.60 each, I might as well just buy the G4 part and save myself the faff of trying to fit them. I've managed to get one bearing out, and ironically, the one left in is no longer notchy. However, the 200 degree bake has burnt the oil in the bearing so it has to come out now ha.

Understood, but the standard bearings here must suffice otherwise we'd have reports of them failing all over the place...

The ones linked are stainless steel bearings. Normal metal shielded bearings will be cheaper.

Yes the plain steel bearings are all ok...

Well, I've ended up paying £9 for something that should have cost £2.25...

In a hurry, I ordered these, thinking they were stainless steel. Nope, bog standard metal shielded. Description is correct, but misleading image:

Oh well, at least I now have new bearings...
