  • Tail servo dying?

    Hi everyone,

Last week during a flight i notice my tail kicked out pretty bad on a move that i have done lots of times before with no problems. Now its at the point where a small pitch pump or will blown it out. Never changed anything on the heli just started on its own, i have now tried changing different tail gains, gov settings, bec voltage and redone the setup but none of this helped. The servo is a Futaba BLS256HV, is this it just starting to die now? I know the easy thing to do is put on a different tail servo but i don't have any spare.

Also i have taken the tail apart and check over it all

Typical of a servo on it's last legs Connor, be careful if it goes completely you'll have a piro of death to contend with. I was lucky DS650 mid flight piro circuit and thought that's a little faster than I'm expecting, let the stick go and I knew instantly I'd lost it, hit hold and the damage was minimal as I'd flattened out and wasn't too high, came down and got snarled in the grass.
