My Flybarred Raptor 50 had some life pumped into it today .I bought it 8 or 9 years ago as a 30 and made it into a 50 not long after. Then a year later I moved onto the trex 600 nsp After flying flybarless now for 5 or more years I didnt know what to expect but it flew well and very nostalgic as it was the one that I did my first inverted with .Will try inverted tomorrow after a few setup changes .~May actually treat it to a scale body
as I dont really want to sell it .I am very pleased with the way its flying and Flybarred :-). Anyone else tried flybarred .

I have recently passed both my raptors on to club members to learn with, I enjoyed my time learning with both of them, with the bonus of 14 minutes of flight time on the 30. We still have quite a few members who fly them regularly at the club, and there were a couple being put through their paces today, such a shame that TT decided to discontinue parts for these and several other models, as nitro is having a bit of a resurgence at present...

I sold my 600 nitro but still couldnt part with the raptor , My goblin and 550 pro knock the socks of it but it still has its place as a relaxing flyer .

Yep, I still have a few flybarred helis that fly really good, I have never seen any reason to change them (Knight 3D, Robbe Futura and Dyna-X). They are all nitros though so I haven't flown them in a while. I also had a flybarred Hirobo SDX that flew really nicely as well. The main differences from FBL are that I find myself correcting a little more as the flybarred model will tend to drift a bit (a bit like the difference between rate mode and heading hold on a tail gyro). And I can run lower headspeeds on the FBL models.

my sdx50 is about to become flybar less after the Spartan tail gyro let go and it had a little bump
                  smashing the head badly
I have a pre dfc align head to retro fit onto the sdx, I'd love to use the hirobo head but parts take longer to get hold of
and have you seen the price of the hirobo fbl heads?

Yeah my SDX has been converted to a custom G10 frame but is a stalled project at the moment.

Regarding Fuselages for the Raptor Brian, Century / Funkey make some. Heliartist make some for the Trex 600 that might fit with a little ingenuity. Red Lodge or Quick UK would be likely sources of info on that.

LHC have a range of Century/Funkey Hughes 500 fuselages, certainly had a few weeks back, (Leamington Hobby Centre) they do not list them on their website though!
