Hi. My understanding of VTX Blades is that they are wide chord and just as punchy as normal blades at 200 rpm less speed. I could probably go to 500Kv on a 13t pinion on 697 blades, but I've ordered 717's and I want to run it at about 1700 rpm. I think with a 520kv motor and 13t pinion, even a freewheeling esc would complain a bit.

I run my 7HV (similar ratio) on a 700MX 470kv motor on a helijive and it's absolutely perfect for my style of flying. A 520Kv motor on 717 blades with 13t pinion is just a bit too frantic for me because you are going to have to run at minimum 2000rpm to keep the esc happy. With wide chord VTX blades it's going to be as punchy as a punchy thing, and you will probably only get about 4 minutes flying time anyway.

I could be totally wrong, but that is my take on it. I'm also a bit disappointed that my first Logo would come with these problems, but I guess maybe I'm not being realistic when it comes to expectations of a new heli on the market. It does smack a little bit to me of Mikado/Scorpion cartel where the correct spec Scorpion motor for this new model is going to be well overpriced because it's the only one that will fit. The accessories listed on the Mikado Site for this heli back that theory up as stated in earlier posts.

    Sorry for the negative vibes.

Kitting out a new hell release is always difficult and trial and error . My Mostro started out on a 750 50 motor on 12s and by the time had tweaked it , it was running a 800-48 on a 14s set up which was just superb but very expensive. No doubt everybody will run a different set-up on the new Logo 700 , its always going to happen .

I'm using my 700xx as a reference point to work out what pinion I need. To begin with I'm just going to use the exact same motor, pinion and main gear so I'll get near enough the exact same head speed. Pyro 800-48, 19T, 175T. When Kontronik release the new shaft for the 750-56, my new pinion size with the new main gear will be 19 x 480 x 136 / (560 x 175) = 12.65, so I'm going to use 13T. Simples!

For anyone remotely interested, Midland will be getting stock of the Logo 700 scorpion motors at the same time as the heli kits come in. That will be it from me. Have fun y'all.

Out of curiosity, when are they now expecting the kits in?

                        • Not sure if I like it to be honest, wouldn't like to have to change the front umbrella gears in the event I strip them.

                          • Never having owned a Logo I always assumed they were all belt drive tail (I know the smaller Logos are). But now I see this 700 uses a belt driven torque tube! Seems like a very strange solution. I wonder why they didn't just run the belt all the way to the tail?

And do you really have to split the frame to remove the elevator or tail servo!

You just remove 4 set screws without splitting the frames and then can change the gears.
                              So simple.

Its the config as the last 700 and works very well , as above it save you having to reset the tail in the event of gears stripping , very simple to do . Speaking to Trevor last night and there on the boat and should be here in a matter of days !
