There's nothing magical about the 4525 motor. Lots of other motors would work, depending on how aggressively you fly.

I'll only keep it a week so doesn't really matter ;-)

I am sure they would, but I can't find any other motor with a 55 mm shaft.

The previous 700 was exactly the same as this, and I think because the are using the same one-way hub and tail drive system (staged belt) it would have just added additional cost to change this for no real benefit. FWIW it works perfectly on the 700xx.

I guess the funny thing is they switched to 6mm because 6mm motor shafts are more common, only it is still so long you need a special shaft anyway!

In time there will be more options I'm sure...

I think they also changed the OWB. Mirko said the new 136T main gear is 50g lighter than the old one. Can't believe that weight saving came from only plastic

                Ah, it was beefy.

Looking forward to seeing for myself!

I've preordered a 717 kit as I already have VTX 697 blades. Seems like the 717 kits in the UK are mostly sold

I sent Kyle Dahl a message on FB and his reply was as follows :

I use the Scorpion 4525-520 KV motor. The closest that you have is the 750-50 Kv that has a KV of 500. With this motor I would run the 13 tooth pinion, or the 14 tooth pinion if you want really allot of power. With the 750-56 which has a KV of 560, I would recommend only the 13 tooth. Also note that the new pinions run on a 6mm shaft rather then a 8. From my experience this is really easy to change out though.

                        Hope this helps,
                        Kyle

There might be one back on the market again soon unless I can find a 480kv motor with a long enough shaft.

The Pyro motors don't have long enough shafts for a counter bearing.

I'm just hoping that Xnova have something in the pipeline that will fit because I don't want to run a 520kv motor in it. And that seems to be the only option at the moment if you want CB support.

The Pyro 750-50 you can spec with an XL shaft at 54.5 mm , I just hope its long enough and I won't know until the kit arrives .

Is there a reason you want to run a 480KV motor?

If it's low head speed, the Align/HW 130 has active freewheeling, so you can use a lower head speed without the ESC getting hot and unhappy.
