It's all the quaders flying over priced bits of carbon about looking at the floor wobbling back and forth in unison that have caused the downturn Tom Who would give up putting 2K's worth of heli in the air just to squirt round a field having a laugh with your mates not me

That's a good point. However, for whatever reasons, justified or unjustified, the price has been set at 999 Euros and $999. Only a couple of years ago we were getting as much as $1.7 for a £ and that would have put the price below £700 for us. We just have to accept that prices sometimes will be cheaper and sometimes more expensive for us, due to the exchange rate. Without wanting to come across as all doom and gloom, it is what it is and we are going to see price increases on other helicopter brands too. On a positive note, it won't last forever and prices will go down again as the exchange rate improves.

Apart from knowing how to make a decent flying Heli, mikado are also in a pretty strong position with the success of V Control and NEO. They've managed to get their existing customers to change and a whole bunch of new ones too, and they've achieved it purely through it being a bloody good intuitive product. If your product and your reputation is good then you can expect to push for a higher profit. It's the same with just about any product when the product meets the hype

The Protos comparison took an interesting turn. If you were thinking of buying a Max V2, then now is the time I'd say.

It looks like the version that ships with the Brain2 will be $100 more in the USA, and a whopping £135 more here in the UK. That's comparing Fast Lad's Brain2 version pre-order price (£714) and Midland's current Brain 1 stock price (£580).

          I didn't see that coming.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

That was also my plan but the XL shaft for the Pyro 750 is 8mm diameter, so you'll have to use the 700xx main gear and pinions. Mikado said they will also have an 8mm counterbearing ready for release. Apparently Kontronik will have a 6mm shaft for the Logo 700 in about 10 weeks

I was going to run my 800-48 motor in it with an 8mm shaft , but Im going with the 6mm option as I dont want to wait .

I think you'll find they take advantage of cheap labour and manufacturing in the Far East, can't say for certain with Mikado but defo Synergy. Yes the cost of design etc have to be factored into the final cost that a product enters the market at, but they also have to look at forecasted sales. I'm not a salesman, too honest for that but volume sales with lower margin helps with manufacturing costs and increased margin etc. Low volume sales with higher margin, well you don't need to be a salesman to realise that ain't doing squat for numbers. Now my bollocks above might be just that but I know as a consumer if the Logo was positioned even slightly South of £700 I'd be in the waiting list, that's the truth of it, been looking for a change for around a year and this floats my boat. Where it is for a Saturday hobby, I just can't justify it. The comparison to Protos V2 above was a good one, similar R&D, marketing, tooling (plastic) costs and half the price(ish) with a FBL unit in the box.

Exactly what my point was mate. They're missing the main market here and their sales are going to suffer for it over here.
