Scorpion 4535 windings

Hey guys

Quick one for you, I'm just trying to find out if it was my esc that got damaged or if it was my motor that caused the esc to blow so I have checked the windings with a multimeter

I get 0ohms measuring between the motor connectors (which I'd expect) but the red wire seems to short circuit against the front casing of the motor, does this sound right or is that a fault?

Well, none of the windings should be connected to the case, they should all be completed insulated relative to the case

OK so I've just rechecked and all 2 have a resistance of around 0.4M (meg) Ohm between the motor connectors and the front casing (where you'd mount it to the heli by)

Does this sound acceptable?

0.4 MOhm is in the range you would expect for any of the three wires. If the red wire is showing zero Ohms to the motor body then you do have a problem.

Just been checking my scorpion motor, following mr. mel motor insulation check video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hc_1G6aC2sk . Should be no reading- O.L MOhms between each motor connector and motor shaft. I got 0.4MOhm reading when I tried touching probe ends during check. Hope this helps.
