Currently got a Hitec Optic 6 Sport and want to spend some money

Hey all

Been looking at the Spektrum DX7 for a while now. It's not like I need a new TX, just wondering if I would see any vast improvement on anything if I went for something like that.

I like the idea of having a screen that shows actual graphs of pitch curves etc as numbers for everything, like on mine just get a bit confusing at times.

Any thought appreciated.

Hi Richard the DX7 is a very good Radio. It's fairly basic but has enough to satisfy most folk. Probably about the most popular choice at that price point. Going 2.4mhz is definetly the way things are going and very quickly... but whatever manufacturer you choose will tie you to their brand of Rx's, if you have several models this may influence your decision as to what to buy..

I do suggest you buy a Radio with 7ch or more, so really looking at DX7/Futaba 7 ch FAAST system etc...

I myself only recommend people buy the better known brands JR (SpeKtrum) Futaba when it comes to a Tx's as thats whats most people use and are familiar with so you are never short of assistance in programing.
Also using the buddy Box facility means having something that is compatable with whoever you buddy to.. Re-sale price/servicing would also be a consideration.

I have a foot in both camps at the moment..DX7 which has logged around 1500 flights and many Sim hours and just recently a Futaba 12FG 2.4 system. Both have been flawless to date. Brian

DX7 is amazing, when I first joined the hobby I was laughing at the DX7, I thought who would pay 200+ for a transmitter...

And look who has one now?

Can't fault it mate, perfect. Spektrum/JR is great, the best IMO .
