So I finally caved in and thought I'd see what all the fuss was about and ordered myself a drone, decided on a DJI Inspire as all the write ups seemed pretty good.
Got it on Saturday morning, charged it up and read through the manual and it all seemed fairly straight forward. As the weather yesterday was reasonably bright and not too breezy I thought I'd maiden it in a local field near me in Hanworth. First flight went ok I had to do a bit of trimming to get it to hover but got it to a "fingers off sticks" stationary position and it was solid by the end of the lipo.
Stuck another battery in & thought I'd give it an altitude test, 30 seconds into the flight bang! Out of nowhere a bloody great Airbus comes steaming over and knocks it out of the sky! No warning just straight accross the field and into my brand new quad!
Ive managed to get most of it back but to be honest I'm not sure any of its salvageable! Even the lipo's split. I tried calling British Airways customer services to get their insurance details but they've been really unhelpful so far.
So I'm £900 out of pocket and a company that makes millions won't even help me out because they're worried about their no claims bonus, it's a bloody disgrace! I'd urge everyone here to boycott them in future!
