  • Os/align 91 hz

I have a Align 91HZ which I have put new bearings in.

On reassembly Ive noticed the 'gasket' between the engine and muffler has flaked away.

    Are these the replacement ones?

Or is the done thing to simply bolt the muffler straight on?

Most of my nitro engines have no gasket for the exhaust. If the two surfaces are really smooth and flat it will work fine, you can always try it without the gasket and just see if you're getting a lot of oil oozing out.

Yes, that is the correct gasket. I just use araldite on mine, just a smear and make sure the exhaust and crankcase are clean. I'm sure others have different methods but it works for me. You can also give the bolts a final tighten once you have had the engine running and some heat in it.

Same as Sheryl, nothing but flat surface and decent bolts. Attalids, silicon end up in the engine somehow

+1 "5 min" Epoxy, just a very light - lighter than that - smear and bolt on.

I use the normal gasket which mechanics use in car engines lol
