  • Powerlab 8, which is safest, MPA board or Balance boards?

    Hey guys

I've been having issues with the thermal trips going off and smelling like something is burning on my MPA board. The lipos are fine and it seems to be the same trip causing problems.

I was going to just replace the MPA board but just out of curiosity, which is actually the safer method, the MPA board or a daisy chain of the single balance boards?

I must point out that I think that thermal trip may have gotten damaged in some way when I cocked up and plugged in a fully charged lipo with 5 fully discharged ones! That thermal trip saved the day!!

    Cheers

MPA board is safest - essentially each cell of each lipo is isolated by either a thermal fuse or a proper fuse. You dont have this protection on a daisy chained parallel board setup

You do get the poly-fuses on the Cellpro FMA Safe Parallel adapters, but personally I still prefer the MPA board.

          +1 on the MPA board,

Each lipo and cell is protected by a fuse....The revolectrix is a very good design (as stated above)

Yeah I figured the MPA board was probably the best bet. I've stopped off at Align Trex on my way to work and grabbed a new one so all good!
