An always at the ready rescue switch wired into a JR DSX9 TX and using Brain FBL units. The large paddle (spring loaded) is always easy to hit. Must have saved me a small fortune since making and fitting.

kenny, it's easy. If you use a six-channel radio, make a switch reverse the gyro channel (or set the value to something similar, but negative; check in the "diagnostics" tab of the settings that this works). Also, in the "Acro" tab, set the "function" to "rescue (normal)" (or acro if you like flying inverted).

As Kenny says. you need to go into the software and set one of the rescue modes under the 'stabi' tab. To set a switch to activate rescue you need to make a mix in the Tx that reverses gyro gain.
On Spektrum transmitters you need to set up two mixes, both identical that look like the attached screen shot:
After setting it up check on the transmitters 'monitor' screen that gain goes negative when you hit the switch (top left switch as i have the mix set).
Now test the rescue activation on the spirit static, make sure that you get positive pitch and not negative.Attached FilesGoblin Kraken, SoXos Strike 7, XLPower Specter, Goblin Black Thunder T, Goblin 700 Speed, Goblin 770 Comp Carbon, Trex 700X, Kasama Dune, Henseleit TDR

Or you could just learn to do an actual piroflip and not have a switch that does it for youOriginally posted by atomiccomp View Post
On the Neo, if you pirouette the the model whilst inverted, hold the pirouette and hit rescue it does a perfect piroflip back to right way up. Its a great party trick when done a metre of the deck
That's just f ing cheating. I'm sure it's funny to do once or twice.... But I do hope to god people are not putting rescue mode piroflips into their routines (flights). That is just plain wrong. Just learn how to do em properly
Then it's an actual party trick rather than nothing to do with your abilities what so ever.
i have seen lots of models fitted with rescue go in. Actually...I watched a bloke at my previous club come down 3 weekends on the bounce just to test the rescue. He crashed every bloody day...trying to test the rescue mode lol.Last edited by SaneAdam; 19-03-2016, 08:29 AM.Stainburn Helicopter Club

Haha, indeed that's true. No matter what your skill level I doubt anyone could do a one handed piro flip and that's what makes it such a great party trickOriginally posted by SaneAdam View PostOr you could just learn to do an actual piroflip and not have a switch that does it for you

I might even learn how to hover upside down now or learn to hover nose in such is the confidence the neo has given me
I just need to buy one now.

[QUOTE=Grumpy;1201851]The Spirit rescue has some really good features. It's got three modes:
- Normal rescue: This works the same as the Neo, flips the heli upright and climbs away (downside it you need some altitude to do the flip)
- Rescue delay: Levels to the nearest orientation (upright or inverted), climbs away then (if inverted) flips to upright after reaching safe altitude.
- Acro rescue: levels the heli to nearest orientation and climbs, and stays in the same orientation (no flip to upright if rescue was inverted)
I've used all modes and they all work perfectly 'as advertised'. I now use option 2 as it's 'the best of both worlds' in that you need less altitude in hand to perform a rescue, but the heli still ends up upright after completion. The only thing you need to watch with the Spirit is not to set cyclic ring too high otherwise the rescue flip is so violent that it risks boom strike.[/QU
In option 2 are you setting the time the heli climbs before it rights itself?Logo 550 sx spirit

Just out of interest why do you need 2 mixes with Spektrum? On my DX9 I have just one mix - GER>GYR, -100% 100%, Offset -60%. This seems to work fine but would like to make sure I'm not missing something here, thanksOxy 3 285, Trex 550X, Goblin 700C, Spirit & BD FBL, Jlog, DX9...

Yes. From memory it defaults to 1 second but I reduced that to 0.7 second.Originally posted by bill rob View PostIn option 2 are you setting the time the heli climbs before it rights itself?Goblin Kraken, SoXos Strike 7, XLPower Specter, Goblin Black Thunder T, Goblin 700 Speed, Goblin 770 Comp Carbon, Trex 700X, Kasama Dune, Henseleit TDR
