Spektrum AR9020 & Vortex vx1n

Having a spot of bother with binding. I can bind AR9020 no problem but trying to bind vx1 nothing happens binding failed!

anyone else had any issues binding these 2 before.

How are you doing the bind and what have you chosen as receiver type in the VX1?

Correct that binds no problem but vx1 is still waiting for a response from the tx.
Av given up for tonight a'l go through it all again tomorrow if I get a chance.

The Vortex doesn't bind to anything. If it is not initialising it means it is not getting the signals it needs.

1) Have you connected all six channels to receiver?
2) Have you set the receiver type in the Vortex to "Std"
3) Go to menu Setup : Transmitter and check which channels are changing when you move the stick. If one doesn't change, that's likely your problem.

The problem is you shouldn't be trying to bind anything with the VX1 if you're using a standard receiver, that's only something you need to do when you have no receiver and just satellites plugged directly in to the Vortex.

If you go through the Receiver setup in the Spartan Studio and select the "Std" receiver it will show you how to wire the receiver, and it deliberately doesn't give you any options for binding as that's all managed by the receiver and radio.

If you're selecting DSM2 or DSMX in the Vortex setup those are the wrong options, and are only used when you have no receiver and are plugging satellites directly in to the Vortex.

Maybe I misunderstood you ... Are you setting the RX type as "std" in the Vortex, or "DSMX"? As other's have mentioned, the bind is between the radio and AR9020. The vortex doesn't need to bind at all - it just needs to understand that it will get signals on the right ports.
