  • How was 2015 for you?

I don't think we did one of these for last year.

I got lots of flying done.
I went to a few events, including Charmouth and Zone for the first time, but seemed to miss quite a few of the other big ones.
I had a mini burnout after watching the pros at Zone, with a spate of equipment failures from pushing too hard, and got practically no flying in over June and July.
Major purchases were my first 700 and a VBar Control.
I didn't improve as much as I wanted, but I think I have a good base for 2016.

    How was your year?

Not as good as years before, last year I did hardly any flying but still managed to build 4 new helicopters lol !
I did a few events but not as many as I would normally, hopefully this year will be better and I intend to attend some more events.
With regards flying our field is a 70 mile round trip so it makes it difficult if your not going to make a day of it.

Im also eagerly awaiting the release of the new Logo 700 which I cant wait to get my hands on and im still toying with a Gaui NX7 as I have a brand new 105 and powerpipe waiting to go in it lol !

Great question. Built a 450, my largest, and watched it pole in on the 5th battery, rebuilt it but not flown since. Discovered FPV racing and bought the bits necessary to give that a go. Too much travelling for work and nowhere near enough flying. Visited Weston Park and Croft Farm but still not sure what I watching comp wise.

Joined a new club with like minded heli fliers
Bought my biggest heli yet, Logo 600
Started flying upside down, flips and some inverted hovering
        Started flying backward
Only crashed once last year, but it was a good one total loss of a Warp 360
Too much work related travel and not enough flying
My flying progressed so can't complain about that

          Pretty good.

Loads of flying, everyday in the summer and all day at weekends.
Started flying at a new field, met some new people.

Purchased my Logo 550sx and 2 x Trex 700L's along with my first vbar (Still trying to decide if I like it)
Flying has improved a LOT and even bought a Generator to charge everything.

Only Crashed twice I think which is always a bonus.

            Last Year:-
Entered my first ever grass roots competition, and was very pleased with the result.
Generally just got a bit more consistent but found it hard to try new things.
New model = Goblin 380.... great fun :-)
Didn't fly as much as I wanted too.

This Year I will try to get to as many events as possible and will make a greater effort to get to the field to either fly or help others.

not too bad I think - I believe I was pushing myself a bit less, focussing on enjoying myself and the time at the field ...

only had one major incident where the E700 was out of control with almost no damage so that was good ...

decided to slim down the fleet a bit an focus on specific models - less tinkering and building of models but actually flying some as well as - oh damn, investing in a lot of fpv, camera and quad gear ... but enjoying it as well ...

as you well know, I at least wanted to achieve a little thing for the year so I took you up on the multi-rotor A - thanks again for taking the time ...

in combination with building my first night flyer and flying it without any issues and enjoying it as well I think it all in all it was a good year - lets see when I get to fly this year and what 2016 brings ...

2015 was my first year in the hobby, so was pretty excited about learning everything from scratch. I had a good winter start with various micros, a decent Tx and sim and by the summer I was happily sport flying in the local fields with my 180 CFX and OXY 3. The latter was my first build and that went better than I could have expected. The build went smoothly and I managed to set up the electronics without any issues. The Oxy has now logged just over 150 flights without any drama, just the one crash which was about £30 to fix. Also got 150 flights on my 180 CFX, again with few issues and a couple of minor crashes along the way.

I'm really looking forward to 2016. I've been hard at it on the sim over the winter and I'm starting to develop some decent 3D flying skills which I can't wait to try at the field - as I haven't flown outdoors since November. Also building up a Goblin 380 KSE to try something slightly larger. I'm hoping to join a club later in the year once our youngest daughter starts nursery and I finally get a bit of free time.

Piro work on the sim has paid off although the reversing piro globe still alludes me

I didn't have a bad year although had a spate of ins towards the end of it, most not bad. Won the runner up award for most improvement which is nice for others to see the effort paying off.

This year for me will mostly trying to get the bit at the top right in a piro loop, bastard

My 2015 was OK,managed to learn a few new manoeuvres and only a couple of crashes.Did not fly as much as I hoped through having to work two Saturdays out of every month.Went to Mk grass roots,Mk flyin and Weston Park Helifest all of which I really enjoyed.

For 2016 I need to carry on learning new manoeuvres and transitions between manoeuvres so I can achieve what I have been aiming at for years,to be able to do a flight that's fluid, interesting and exciting from when I take of until when I land. Also need to work on weak side so I can fly any manoeuvre from any direction.Basically I need to do a lot more flying. Heres Hoping.

Hmm 2015... It was ok, started off well with a good performance at GR but then summer was sucked up by moving into a new house and painting/decorating like mad. After three years of consistent progress I suddenly felt it slow, i guess that's the reality – we all go through slumps. Then the last few months I've been completely disinterested and have been doing other things, but I'm sure a lot of that can be attributed to the weather and it seemed like it was really windy towards the end of last year anyway.

Model wise I've settled down with two logo 690's and am very happy with them so there really is no excuse to be getting the flying in! Hopefully this year see's some renewed focus and new moves under my belt. I think I might hop on the rchn pilot proficiency scheme as it looks like it'll be a good way to focus your flying. I always find if I have a structure/something to focus on I actually make progress rather than rehashing the same moves.

I like threads like these, well done for starting it Rich

When I look back it wasn't a bad year. I flew over in Spain at the Helimaniacos fun-fly, flew a bit at an amazing club in Florida, flew in a (very casual) comp . Got my B cert. I don't think I learned any new moves but improved a bit on the ones I do know. Got in Rotorworld twice and flew at some good flyins which I really enjoyed, got a great pic flying at Whitehorse and watched one day of Air. Built two new helis.

Sorry to hear about the fire Brian, that is my worst fear.

2015 was a good year. Started flying again after a long lay off and now coming along in leaps and bounds. Started off with a 450 and now have a 500, 600 and 700 size models. (I wont mention the 150, horrible little thing)

Oh..... and as a bonus, I discovered RC Heliaddicts without whom I would probably still be messing about with my old 450.

                            Cheers everyone.

Not a bad year seemed to do more building - 3 helis and fiddling about with a Helixheli Trex 600/ gutless OS GT15HZ gasser thing. No crashes but only fly big air no 3D here. Bought a Kylin Quad and 2 sets of Fatshark goggles, not used them due to crap weather. Got into the V Control thing and converted all my stuff over to suit it, a great piece of kit.
Too many helis and planks, well that's what she says.
