  • 450L and edge 50?

    Hey

I have bought a CC phoenix edge 50 for my tree 450L Dom. I have seen on a few forums people have mounted these and had a lot of success. Thing is with mine mounted where the stock esc is, on the front plate just above the battery release button, i can't get the canopy on. Like the holes for the canopy are 1/2" away from the posts!

Has anyone on here used these two together. And if so can you put up some pics of the esc installation please?

    Hi,

I run the same on mine and also found it to be too tight a fit. My solution is to drill new holes in the canopy. Here's a picture of my current well-beaten canopy:

The distance between the hole centers is about 10mm. I think it could be 1-2mm less, but mine is easy to fit.

Here's a couple pictures of how I have mounted the ESC:

I believe most people use the edge 50 lite and not the "big" one ...

Thanks for that! so the new holes, i take it u put the esc in, then offered up the canopy and then marked on the canopy where the pegs were? so if thats the case then the new holes will be below the old holes? or have u simply set the canopy forward? if so what keeps it tight at the front?

Looking at the first photo, it looks like the new holes are 45degrees down and back. is that correct?

For the first canopy that I drilled, I did exactly what you described. If you go this route, remember to put a battery in too. My canopy sits very loose without a battery, but is held firm when a battery is in.

45 degrees looks about right to me.
